Directions to the Pomfret 4-H Camp

From North (Boston) or Northwest (Albany)

Get on Route I-90 (Mass Pike) West. Near Worcester and Auburn, take Exit 10 to 395 South. Take 395 South into Connecticut until Exit 97 (Route 44).

At the end of the ramp, take 44 West. After 5.1 miles, it will intersect with Route 97 in Pomfret. Take 97 South. 97 South will bend several times, with the street going straight but Route 97 taking a ninety-degree turn; stay on 97.

After 4 miles, you'll see a small green sign for the 4-H Camp, pointing off to the right. Take that road, which is Taft Pond Road. The entrance to the camp itself is down that road after 1.6 miles.

If you reach the intersection of 97 and 44 (yes, they intersect again) by the white general store, you missed the turnoff onto Taft Pond Road; turn around.

From the South (New York City)

Take I-95 North until 395. Take 395 North to Route 101. Take 101 West until you reach the intersection of Route 97; you'll see the white general store. Turn right onto 97 North; the camp entrance is on your left.

From Middletown

Take Route 9 north to I-91 North to I-84 East. Get off of I-84 at exit 69 for Route 74. Take a right onto 74 East. Take a left onto Route 44 East. At the intersection of 44 and 97 turn left onto 97 north. The camp will be on your left.
