Churches:Ubrialla

Epithet: the Lady of the Woods, the Mistress of Does
Terminology: Ubrialla (oo-bree-ALL-an)
Symbol: the "lunagram": a moon with a curved crescent line

Depiction

The goddess of nature and agriculture is alternately a lithe woman dressed in green cloth or a majestic deer. Ubrialla bears a silver scythe that she uses to harvest crops. The sun, like humankind, works only by day, while nature, like the moon, is active at all times; for this reason, the moon is considered to be Ubrialla's watchful nimbus.

Ubrialla was once seduced by Dorial and bore Kintaka. She is not terribly proud of her bastard son.

Theology and Practice

As the goddess of agriculture, Ubrialla is much more popular among average Hesketines (who are largely farmers) than among the actual PCs. Farmers, foresters, and those wishing bountiful harvests turn to her, along with the occasional night owl.

Ubriallan clergy will not harm nature or forests. Ubrialla believes in a natural balance; nature grows crops, but is harvested by people. Unnecessary violence against nature or against humanity upsets this balance.

Many of her clergy wear greens and browns, and some carry a scythe. Ubriallan temples are usually in forests or dales and are often outdoor shrines.

Religious Orders

There are a few mendicant and monastic orders dedicated to Ubrialla, such as the Bringers of Life Unbounded.
